Summer Library Program for Older Kids
Ages 5 to 12

This summer marks the 50th anniversary of the Landing on the Moon by the Apollo 11 astronauts. We are celebrating this important milestone by presenting our summer theme, "A Universe of Stories". And, if you have participated in the summer program before, you can already tell that we are changing things up!

This year Brown Library is offering programming for everyone, babies through adults. Here in the Children's Room we will be registering folks for either the Babies & Toddlers section (wee ones birth to age 4), or the Older Kids section (children ages 5 - 12). Both sections will have programming specially designed to spark children's imagination and increase their love of books and reading.

As in years past, older kids will again be reading for prizes. This year, however, we will track every 20 minutes read, rather than the number of books read. And, kids can win prizes for attending library programs, going on family and cultural outings, and even reading to a younger family member or friend!

We wil begin registering children on June 3. The summer library program officially kicks off on June 21. Please refer to the attached calendars for all the events planned so far for older kids. 

This summer is going to be out of this world! We look forward to having your family participate with us here at Brown Library.
